wallpaper grunge freebie [Rachelle Lee. the photoshop files]

*i hope that my photoshop files are helpful to some of you. in no way do i consider myself an expert in photoshop (can we say, never ending program to learn?). i just thought it would be fun to share some of the things that i'm learning in the hope that they can help some of you too!

I love using textures when editing a photo, but I also love using textures to create cards and books. The problem is, most texture files come in color and when I'm designing a book or a card, I want the colors to blend seamlessly.

Enter: the texture brush.

By creating a brush from your favorite textures, you can use them in whatever color you'd like and even change the opacity or layer style to complete the look. I also really like to use these as erasers over text or other elements to create a really weathered look.

This brush was created from one of favorite textures that almost looks like wallpaper.

And here's an example of a play date card I made using this grungy brush.

(these play date cards will be making their way into my price guide very soon!).

You may not be able to see the brush marks right away (that's the point), but look closely and you'll see that they're just a tad darker than the rest of the card. And if you really can't see them, well, that's probably because I used a few different textures to achieve this look. :)

Happy Photoshopping!
