brother and sister [rachelle lee. photographing beautiful kids]

Photobucket

It's funny. It seems that lately whenever I've been photographing siblings and ask them if they are best friends, they look at me like I'm crazy and then I torture them by making them sit next to each other and pretend that they LIKE it. :) And then I spend the next 20 minutes or so trying to convince them that they need to like each other, because family is all we've got. And I try and tell them that one of these days, they're going to realize that they really do like and appreciate each other.

I guess it comes from my own experience. I only had 1 sister. And sure, we had our share of fighting. But I don't really remember it. I remember that throughout high school, when I really needed it, she was my best friend. And I guess part of me hopes that these beautiful kids (and even my own for that matter!) will have that same cheering section behind them. It's a conversation that I'm sure my kids are tired of, but when I hear them laughing (SO HARD) in the car, or when I see him encourage her, or when I see her take a breath and do something nice for him, I think maybe they'll make it there afterall.
