They make me long for my childhood so strong that my heart aches. The days in Nampa, when my sister and the neighborhood friends would catch water skippers in the creek, frogs in the window wells (and keep them in the garage), and caterpillars in the fields. The days were long and we had our imaginations and the world at our feet. We made tents out of blankets, forts out of dirt, and slides out of snow. We played carebears and GI Joes, restaraunt and dentist - not video games - but us, in the yard, running around. We slept outside at night, my sister and I on the trampoline. Sometimes we'd forget to turn off the sprinklers and would end up running inside in the middle of the night, our sleeping bags soaked.

We moved from there when I turned 12 and things were never quite the same. Life got more complicated and I got older. How I miss the smell of freshly cut grass in Nampa.

:)
